Yesterday, on June 26th, a social media post reported an incident involving Regina paramedics. While responding to a call that originated from Regina Transit, Regina EMS paramedics were assaulted.
This is not an isolated incident. Our members have experienced and are experiencing increasing violence while attempting to provide assistance to those who need their care.

Health Sciences Association of Saskatchewan (HSAS) opposes the decision made by the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) to hire Medavie West, a private company, to provide Mobile Detox Services in communities such as Île-à-la-Crosse, Beauval, Buffalo Narrows, and La Loche.
The 2024 HSAS Annual Convention and AGM was held on October 24 & 25, 2024 at the Sheraton Cavalier Hotel in Saskatoon. This year we had delegates from every Union Region in attendance.

HSAS is proud to support the U Sports Women’s Hockey Championship Gold Medal Game in support of the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre.
HSAS is proud to support the Regina Food Bank and Learning Centre with a $10,000 donation as part of the Cold Weather, Warm Hearts donation campaign. Cold Weather, Warm Hearts is a partnership between HSAS and the Regina Food Bank to help bring in donations during the cold winter months after Christmas, when seasonal giving typically winds down.

Although the current collective agreement does not expire until March 31, 2024, planning has already begun for a Bargaining Conference to be held in Saskatoon on May 31 and June 1, 2023.
Vacancies are going unfilled, ambulances are sitting without staff, and calls are going unanswered. It’s time to focus on EMS in this province and fix a system that is not working and hasn’t been for a long time.
